I will be visiting my daughter who is studying at St. Andrews and need to find a decent accommodation for three nights. I will be busy most of the time with her and not spending much time in my room except for sleeping and recovering from jet lag. Also looking for it to come with a decent breakfast so I don't have to worry about going out and looking for something. Any recommendations? Thanks.
Hi Jill. we stayed at the Yorkston House B&B...... http://www.yorkstonguesthouse.co.uk/...we really enjoyed our stay there. Great location and breakfast. You would really enjoy your stay at Yorkston House B&B.
One tip - don't go to St. Andrews between July 11 and July 18. The British Open is being played there and the town will be jammed. (Everything's probably sold out already.)
Hi Jill, I was in St Andrews in 2005 when Tiger Woods won "The Open". I booked a room far in advance but met lots of folks that had just arrived in town and found a room. Another idea is to simply stay at the University. The dorms are rented during the summer and some rooms are not just a basic student dorm but actual apartments (breakfast is also available). If you contact the TI in St Andrews they can send lots of info. Good luck.
Jill - Here is a link to the University's web site about out of term accomodations. accomodations
