I am an American college student studying abroad this semester in Copenhagen. I'm leaving soon, and I'm looking to buy souvenirs for friends and family. Do you have any recommendations for souvenirs to buy and/or places to buy them (keeping in mind that I am on a college student's budget)? Here are some ideas I had. Flødeboller, LEGOs, licorice, inexpensive amber and Danish design do such things exist?), pålægschokolade, and tea from Sing Tehus. Thank you!
I don't have any specific suggestions for Copenhagen, but maybe this answer will bump your request up to the top. Also, I do think that you'll easily find some things when you get there. You might want to visit a local Scandinavian Design shop in Chicago before you go so that you can see what's available here and for what prices. In Chicago (up in Andersonville) there is the Swedish American Museum. They can probably give you some info on Denmark as well. Scandinavians stick together. ; ) Check out the Danish Christmas decorations. They can be quite lovely. Pam
