Southwest Ireland: where to stay?

As part of our three-week Europe trip next summer, I plan for my family to spend 4 days in southwestern Ireland. We'll rent a car, and we'll visit Dingle, Killarney National Park, the Rock of Cashel, the Cliffs of Moher, and Bunratty Castle. Dingle will be a day trip from Killarney. Any recommendations on family-friendly lodging between Killarney and Cashel? What about lodging between the Cliffs of Moher and Bunratty?

The Cliffs of Moher and Bunratty are only 41 miles apart, just a bit over an hour's drive. We have stayed at Moher Lodge (on the Cliffs road, about 5 minutes from the Cliffs), and at a B&B on Bunratty Road, just behind the castle (Dunedin Lodge). There are numerous B&Bs along that road. I have only ever stayed at one B&B anywhere that WASN'T "family friendly", so that shouldn't be a problem wherever you stay. Can't help you with the other location. When we were in that area we stayed just south of Cork on a farm outside of Ballinhassig.

Friar's Glen at the eastern edge of Killarney National Park is a lovely B&B.

Hi! There are loads of places to stay in Killarney. I like the International hotel for location. Any place that has family rooms though is usually good with kids! I'd stay 2 nights in one place and 2 in another. Easier than moving twice. Enjoy your trip!

You might want to consider staying in Kenmare instead of Killarney. You can also day trip to Dingle from there. Advantages of Kenmare: smaller town = easier parking and easier to get out of town. Yet Kenmare is still large enough to have lots of restaurant choices and music pubs. You can also access Ring of Beara from that location. If Kenmare interests you, I recommend Virginia's guest house: reasonable, has family rooms, central location right in the center of Kenmare. I think you could also do a day trip to Rock of Cashel and Hore Abbey from Kenmare - it's 2.5 hrs, 116 miles. You don't need more than 2-3 hours for Cashel - get there as early as possible since parking is limited.
