Currently on the road in Ireland and a out to head to Galway. Need to get to Derry/Londonderry and wondered if it was worth stopping in Sligo or Donegal for the night on the way? Looking for things to do at night. Does Sligo or Donegal have anything fun or should we just go to Derry?

We found a lot of good scenery and historic sites in the area around Sligo Town and Donegal Town. Donegal Town had a lot of pubs and shops. The area is definitely worth a stop - we liked Donegal a lot more than Derry. Donegal would give your more of a contrast to Galway than Derry will. Derry is walled and has some interesting murals, but we didn't find that much else to do there. It reminded me of some of those worn-out cities that populate the American midwest. (However, we really aren't fans of small cities.)
