Sleeping in London

Hello-
Does anyone have some recommendations for lodging in London? We will be there in September for 2 nights 3 days. Central as possible to London walks, British Museum & Speakers Corner. Our budget is whatever buys safe, clean & convenient. Baths down the hall are fine. Under 120Euros. The recommendations in RS Great Britain seems to suggest Victoria's station?

Check out Hyde Park Rooms in Paddington. They have very good reviews on Tripadvisor, and their double/twin rooms start at 55 pounds (with a bathroom down the hall) including breakfast. Can't think of much of a better deal than that. http://www.hydeparkrooms.com/

Check out Bloomsbury, near the museum, for a good number of hotels that meet your requirements. As long as you're someplace in the West End, you'll be as centrally located as anyone else. Buses and the Tube will be your friend. Google "Transport for London".

Our favorite hotel in London is the Blades: http://www.blades-hotel.co.uk/ It's in a good location a few steps from the bus stop and tube station. There are a couple of nice pubs and a laundromat nearby. The people who run it are great, and are really helpful.

Hyde Park rooms is a 5 minute walk away from Lancaster Gate tube station on the Central Line. And the stop for the British Museum is 5 stops eastbound, at Holborn. Speakers corner is a 3 minute walk from Lancaster Gate tube station (so less than 10 minutes from Hyde Park Rooms). London Walks begin at different tube stations.

Consider the Jesmond Hotel on Gower Street. It's only about 3 or 4 blocks from the British Museum and about a 20 minute walk from St Pancras if you are using the Eurostar. Its within your budget and we also enjoyed the full English breakfast at the Jesmond. Enjoy London!

I like Bloomsbury, around the corner from the British Museum, about 10 min. walk to Leiscester Sq. I'm staying in June at the Thanet for 110 GBP, on a quiet st. between Bloomsbury Sq. and Russell Sq., have stayed there before and it's very nice. Also have stayed at the Morgan at the corner of Great Russell St. and Bloomsbury St., about the same price as Thanet. I wouldn't stay on a hotel on South Hampton Row, too noisy. There are a number of budget hotels up on Gower St. a few minutes farther from the British Museum though I've never stayed at any of them.
