Bamburys, Heatons, or Greenmount?
I've stayed at Greenmount House twice and really liked it. It's beautifully decorated and many of the rooms have great views. It's a short walk up the hill from town, which we liked because it was quiet. Being from Pittsburgh, we have no issues with hills. But if you don't do hills, this would not be the ideal place for you. Their is plenty of on site parking. The owners are sometimes criticized for not being friendly. We found them to be pretty reserved by Irish standards but very nice and accomodating. The breakfasts, which you eat in a lovely breakfast room with views of the water, are very good. It's not the cheapest place to stay, but I thought it was a good value. I have not stayed at the other two places you mentioned, so can't compare.
I've only stayed at Greenmount. As you face the building, we stayed in the first floor, far right room. Since you're part way up a hill, the view was magnificiant. It's quiet and the rooms are very nice. The breakfast was wonderful. It's more expensive than a lot of places but it's worth it.
We have stayed twice at Greenmount and were very happy with our room and with the breakfasts.
The Greenmount is one of my favorite inns of all time. We stayed in the "Minard" room, which was very nice and spacious. As previously mentioned, the breakfasts are wonderful, as are the views. There's also a lovely and comfortable living room for relaxing. While not cheap, I feel it's reasonable and a good value.
Bambury's had the best breakfast of my Ireland trip (2 weeks), the staff was lovely and the room I had was very spacious.
Put the Lighthouse B & B on your list. Check it out on Google. The best B & B we stayed in during our two weeks in Ireland.
We loved Heatons - and the breakfast there was spectacular.
Thank you everyone for your advice. We have booked a room at the Greenmount, it looks lovely and we look forward to our stay.
We just stayed at Cill Breac B&B in Dingle Town, www.cillbhreachouse.com. Angela is wonderful, rooms are beautiful, short walk to town, breakfast sumptuous.
