Although Rick doesn't list any, I'm wondering if there is some nice B&B to book in Cambridge. My husband and I are planning a trip to England (his first, my fourth) and he wants to see both Cambridge and Duxford. Duxford takes most of the day,in my opinion so an overnight seems wise. Haven't spent the night in Cambridge in more than 12 years, so would appreciate any advice.
Thanks!
I didn't stay in a B&B, but did stay at a Holiday Inn of all places, but I had 2 little kids. The hotel was nice, breakfast was....typical British. They had a bus that would take you to Cambridge or Duxford. Duxford is a must if you are a WWII buff.
My tip, pretty much anywhere in the Uk would be Travelodge. They are almost always clean, basic, similiar... and in the case of Cambridge central. I don't know how much you have to spend and I hope someone else can recommend a really special b and b, but for cost, Travelodge it is for me.
Hi Carmen, I used http://www.cambridgerooms.co.uk/ one year to attend the Flying Legends air show (http://duxford.iwm.org.uk/server/show/nav.24060). My travel video from that trip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tcJmwnt3Gl4 Make sure you look for the Grasshopper Clock .. very mesmerizing that was! Are you going to Duxford for the Imperial War Museum? If not that, I am wondering the attraction to the town. I plan to return summer 2012 and want to spend some proper time, not just an overnight, in the Cambridge and Duxford area. Thanks!
