Skirt necessary for churches/cathedrals in UK??

I'm trying to pack light for my RS tour of England/Wales and then extending the trip for a few days in Scotland. Do i need to bring a skirt/dress to enter the churches or cathedrals in these countries? At this point i'm only bringing 2 long pants, 2 long & 2 short sleeves shirts. i'll be there in late June to early July.
