I'm headed to Silverstone for the BGP and wondering if anyone has any tips on places somewhat close since I'll be there 2 extra days beyond the race dates. Thanks.

Lodgings within about a 25 mile radius of the course jack up their prices a bunch for the race weekend, so if cost is a consideration (and you have a car), I'd recommend Not staying too close. I have a similar situation next month as I'm going to the horse races at Towcester (about 5 miles from Silverstone). I opted to stay at a hotel in the Cotswolds (about an hour away) where the prices weren't as high (like in Buckingham or Northampton) and the scenery is fantastic. If you really must stay close, then you'll find the most choices in Northampton.

Maybe I'll see you there! The Silverstone website had a lot of helpful information. I remember it listed some places where a shuttle would pick you up and take you to the circuit- maybe you could stay in one of those towns. Personally, I am taking a Megabus from Victoria Stn.
