I will be on an overnight flight connecting from Denver to Philly, flying into Heathrow and arriving 11am London time. I cant check into my hotel until 3pm, so I was wondering if anyone has used the showers that are supposedly in Heathrow between Terminals 1 and 2... i.e are they safe, is there room for my luggage, is it dirty? I just cant imagine walking around feeling grimy until I can check into my hotel, and by then it would be the afternoon. I want to look a bit presentable while sightseeing before I can book into my hotel.

Tami; If your plane lands at 11:00 am (if on time!) it will be at least 1:00pm by the time you reach your hotel. Just 2 hours until you can check in and have a shower. Freshen up a bit in the hotel washroom (there's always one near the lobby) and then take a seat and relax. Taking a shower at Heathrow sounds more trouble than it's worth unless unless one is connecting on to Kenya or Abu Dabbi.

Just because the hotel says check-in time is 3:00 PM, that doesn't mean you have to wait until 3:00 to check in. If they have a room ready, they'll let you check in early.

The hotel we stayed at in London let us check in at 9:30 AM and didn't charge us any extra - we immediatley unpacked and showered then went out for the day. It was wonderful!
