Hi everyone, We will be standing by for a flight out of London and are worried about being denied boarding for some days ... I would be grateful for some info on cheap room/accommodation around Heathrow airport. Also any info on economical stays (about 3 days)in central London. Flat/room/convent/private house... We are seniors. can you help.

We stayed at the Premier Travel Inn on the ring road (Bath road) outside Heathrow. The Hoppa Bus stops right at the hotel's front door. Under 100 GBP a night.

Try www.bedandbreakfast.com. I found Heathrow Lodge there. Reasonable rates, close to airport and Windsor. Shuttle service to LHR. I'm staying two nights and expect to see Hampton Court and Windsor/Eton from there, then connect to LHR on my last morning.

We stayed at the Jury's Inn near Heathrow in 2006 for 2 nights; rates were about 70 GBP per night for self, husband, and teenaged daughter. In London, try At Home in London or London Home to Home; both are small B&Bs or private homes that let out a few rooms at reasonable rates. We stayed in Chiswick with full Irish breakfast for about 55 GBP per night for 2. We should have spent the extra 10 or 20 GBP to stay closer in; went to the theater every night and adding another hour to get back to the room made for very late nights. But both services have lodgings throughout London so you should be able to find something that suits.
