How long does it generally take to arrive in Shannon (flying in from London), get your stuff, and get out of the airport? We're arriving in Shannon on a Sunday at 4:40pm. I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to get to Ennis and then on to Galway on a Sunday night. Or if we have to sleep in Ennins and take an early train on Monday. The last Ennis to Galway train leave Ennnis at 6:57pm. Thoughts?

Bus Eireann has direct service from Shannon to Galway. Depart at 17:55 and arrive at 19:45. You should have no trouble catching that bus. Or depart at 18:55 and arrive at 20:45.

Kira, Exiting Shannon is quick, the service friendly and speedy. I've never been there longer than an hour, including taking time to get cash from the ATM and waiting for a taxi. Shannon to Ennis is about 26 miles, straight up the N18/N19. Ennis is lively, pretty and interesting enough to spend a night.
