September B&Bs in Ireland

We're planning a September trip to Ireland and want to use B&B's. How busy are Irish B&Bs in September? Do we need reservations before we go? Thanks in advance for any help/advice.

I don't think you'll have any trouble finding places to stay. They will all still be open (many close in October or November for the winter), and not as busy as in the peak months of June and July. Where are you planning on going?

We will be mostly in the west of Ireland. We do have reservations for Dublin.

I have stayed in several B&Bs in the west. If you're going to the Cliffs of Moher, there is an excellent one just minutes from there. It's called Moher Lodge and is technically in Liscannor. The hosts are wonderful. There are also several nice B&Bs in Lahinch, just around Liscannor Bay from the Cliffs.

We have stayed at Crystal Springs B&B in Killarney, Atlantic View B&B in Clifden (another really great host). Near the Shannon airport at Bunratty castle we stayed at Dunedin Lodge on the Bunratty road, and I understand that the one right next door to it (the name escapes me -- my parents stayed there) was really good, too.
