Just got a phone call from British Air telling me my nice Manchester to Heathrow to St. Petersburg on a single day itinerary was no longer possible and I would have to fly to Heathrow the night before my St. Petersburg flight. So I'm now stuck looking for an reasonably priced hotel with a quick shuttle connection to T5 for a Saturday night. I know Sofitel is right at the terminal, but their prices are too high (over $200 USD a night). I am set to arrive at T5 at 20.25 (8:25 pm) and depart the next morning at 9:20 am. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Need a guaranteed non-smoking room and a place with early breakfast or coffee shop (Costas or Starbucks) would be a big plus.

We stayed at the Sheraton Heathrow last month the night before our morning flight. It's a good all non-smoking hotel; I would stay there again. We got a discounted price of $90 when we booked it with BA at the time we bought our air tickets. Breakfast wasn't included at that rate, but the restaurant was open early and the food was good. It seems to me that BA should offer you the same deal so I suggest you call them to inquire. The hotel is served by the Hoppa Bus.

The individual hotels do not run shuttles to the airport. They are all serviced by the Hoppa bus. The website mentioned by the previous poster outlines this. So there are many hotels that would work just fine because you can get to the airport from any of them. We've stayed at Jury's Inn and were satisfied. It has nonsmoking rooms and a restaurant for breakfast.
