Trying to book travel within Scotland and can't find ferry service to Oronsay. I read one travel blog about walking across from Colonsay at low tide. Are there other options? Thanks!
If you don't get an answer here, you might try emailing the tourist information office in the Hebrides closest to where you want to go. They would have the best and most current knowledge of your options. Go to VisitScotland.com to email the main organization, or you may be able to find an email address for the part of the organization covering the region you are traveling in.
I sent a couple of very specific questions to the TIC in Kirkwall to ask some questions about Orkney, and they responded quickly and were very helpful.
Good luck!
I don't think you can get a ferry to Oronsay. Zoom in real close on Google Earth (or maybe Google Maps in satellite mode, but I've got Earth in the other window). There a trail/causway across the flats good enough for a bike, but I've only walked it.
You're as nuts as I am if you're going down there. Nothing around but a celtic cross and the priory ruins. It's a good five miles from the ferry landing on Colonsay, but it's all on roads and trails.
