Scotland - Inverness and Loch Ness Where to stay?

We are traveling to Scotland in August. I saw the post that recommended the Castleview B&B - It looks great, but it is totally booked in August. Any other recommendations for hotel or B&B in either Inverness or Loch Ness? Just for 2 nights to see the sights around there!

We stayed at Kimcraigen B&B about 8 years ago and loved it. Its in Lochend and the email address is kimcraigan@mail.com , I could not find a website for it but there are current reviews on Tripadvisor.com . Very nice couple running the place with wonderful views of the Loch.

Try the Lynver Guest House in Inverness. It was our favorite B&B in Scotland.

If you are interested in staying out of town and want to try a small hotel, look at The Anderson in Fortrose on the Black Isle. In Inverness, I would not recommend the Best Western Inverness Palace. I stayed there once and the rooms are right on the river and when the pubs let out across the river you hear every drunken cry. ;( I did stay at the Glen Mohr Hotel. Pricey, but very nice. Pam

Check out Tigh na Bruach, a very elegant but mid-priced Band B in Invermoriston. The gardens go right down to the Loch, the hostess is both professional and friendly. The house originally belonged to one of the richest men in England who used it as his guest house. There are three rooms, all are very private. That and Huntingtower Lodge, just west of Fort William, were the nicest places we stayed in Scotland.

Last July, my mom and I stayed at the Pottery House, a specially-built B&B in Dores, about ten minutes south of Inverness with a view of the loch from two of the three rooms. It was my favorite place to stay on the entire trip! Fantastic breakfast (with a variety of hot dishes to from-I had french toast, which was yummy!), comfy beds, huuuuge bathroom, mini-fridge with milk and filtered water inside, robes in the closet, really friendly hosts, computer available in the hallway and free wifi. I wish we could have stayed longer than the one night we had.

Kiloran Guest House is a wonderful stay. If you go to their listing on tripadvisor, you can see the owners' attention to service as evidenced by their responses to reviews. Mine is around June 2011 CA to DC. It is quite detailed and you can see the personalized response. Great location, just a short walk over a pedestrian bridge to "downtown". I highly recommend the River View Cafe for dinner.
