We are excited about taking one of the highland tours recommended by Rick Steves in his Great Britain book. Can anyone advise us on the logistics of bathroom breaks? Is there a loo on the bus or do they stop frequently for breaks? Thanks for any info. We just got weak bladders! Lol
I don't know what companies Rick Steves recommends. I can tell you from experience that Rabbie's uses 16 person tour vans. Rabbie's stops about every 2 hours, so bathroom breaks is not much of an issue. No potty on the bus. If you had a dire emergency - the drivers are quite friendly and probably would not mind "bailing you out" just as long as it is a rare circumstance.
Thank you for your information! I feel much better knowing this.
I've taken a 1-day trip and a 5-day trip with Rabbies. I enjoyed each. The drivers are very friendly and helpful. If you need a bathroom break, just let them know. I also took a 1-day trip with Heart of Scotland in '08 and had a great day. I've seen Timberbush recommended by a traveler I know is very knowledgeable. You can compare the itineraries.
Thank you, Betsey! Based on your good information, I went ahead and booked a tour with one of the companies you mentioned. And so very much looking forward to seeing the Scottish Highlands! Thanks a lot
