Scotland 4 Day-3 Night Trip?

We will leave Edinburgh in a car on a Monday morning and have to be at the Glasgow Train Station at 10:00 Thursday morning. With such limited time, where do we go, and what is the best route?

One thing to bear in mind while planning your trip is that roads in Scotland are not like roads in the US. I love driving them, but they arn not the interstate. They can be twisty, shrink one-lane, go up hill and down, but they are also stunningly beautiful. The A9 is the main road to Inverness. Sometimes dual carriage and other times its a farm road with combines on it. The reason for mentioning this is that it will take will take longer than you'd like. Part of the reason will be the roads and part of the reason will be the views. Be sure to factor in time to enjoy the places you get traveling to! You could go all the way to Inverness on the first day. It will take a half day. When you get there visit Culloden, check out Cawder Castle, or look for dolphins on boat cruise out to Moray Firth. From hear you could head west to Fort William, see Ben Nevis, and then go through Glencoe and Rannoch Moore and down toward Loch Lomond for the night. I'd read more first if I were you.
