Is there such a thing? Or should we just take the motorway and get there as quickly as possible. Thanks!
Maybe just walk? From Bristol to the most proximate edge of the Cotswolds it's about five miles. Where is it, exactly, that you want to go?
Oh gosh! I'm so embarrassed. Bristol to Stow-on-Wold, for example? I thought it was about 2 hours?
Hah! You should see some of my bloopers. You've got two choices: Up the M5 as far as you can and then hook a right. That's the most freeway, but it's longer. Out the M4 and hook a left onto the A 4 (something something) toward Circencester. That's the shortest. I'd take Door Two since its more interesting, but there's probably not ten minutes difference. Neither is close to two hours, okay close, one and three-quarters.
Thank you!
Thank you, Linda and Robin!
This route planner, from the AA, shows the two routes Ed mentions. http://www.theaa.com/route-planner/index.jsp#
Bristol to Stow-on-the-Wold is 70 miles about 1 1/2 hr drive. From Bristol...take road A420 east to road A46 north near Cold Ashton this will take you thru some pretty villages, after going thru Painswick watch for A436 east (towards Little Witcombe), this will take you in to Bourton-on-the-Water. in Bourton-on-the-Water you will want to get on A429 and this will take you to Stow-on-the-Wold.
