I think I read in the RS Scandinavia book that debit cards are preferred in Scandinavia ....
I have only credit cards, and a couple of ATM (no logo) cards from my credit union and Bank of America.
I've had no trouble in other countries, but it sounded like Scandinavia might be different? I was wondering if I was interpreting the info correctly or not. And what's worked for folks.
All of our credit and debit cards worked just fine in Norway in 2005. We haven't visited the other Scandinavian countries.
When we were in Sweden, Norway, and Denmark, all the ATM's we used seemed happy to use our Credit cards. We had no problems in over a month there. Have a great time.
We were in Sweden in 11/07 and had no problems using any credit cards to shop with or ATM cards to withdraw money with, so you should be fine.
