Savoy show-what to wear?

Hi all, we are flying in overnight to London-then an afternoon show at the Savoy. Yes, the same day. We won't be able to change clothes after the flight, cause the luggage will be at the hotel. So what to wear, for the overnight flight and the same day/traveling and the show. The show is already booked, so we can't change. Something comfy but dressy? I have NO idea, jeans with a nice top? Thanks!

Sherrell, You will be fine in jeans and a nice top. You'll notice many people in casual dress at the show. I often just wear jeans to the theatre in London.

The Savoy is a very upscale (luxury) hotel. Why not wear something comfy on the plane, but bring something more sophisticated in your carry-on that you can change into in the Ladies when you arrive at Heathrow? Won't you feel better at the show if you're wearing fresh clothes, rather than those you've worn (and maybe slept in) during your long flight? I know I would.

Oops... Sorry, thought you meant the Savoy Hotel. Still, I would want to change.

I always wear black yoga pants on the plane because they are comfy and they never bag out after sitting for hours. With a nicer top and some jewelry they look like black dress pants.

ha ha, Nancy I just suggested black yoga pants on another post and was basically told they were for much younger women( I totally disagree , and I am over 50!). I think a pair of plain black yoga pants, some nice flats, and a pretty top can be comfy and maybe throw on a nice scarf or necklace for the event. I also would consider throwing something in my carry on. I never wear jeans on long flights because sitting in jeans for 10-12 hours does not seem comfy to me.

Pat, I don't know who told you that but they obviously don't know what they are talking about. :-) I wouldn't wear them with a top tucked in (nobody wants to see that) but with a longer top or a tank and a blouse they are just fine. And I am over 50, also.

Pat and Nancy, when you say 'yoga pants' are you talking about harem pants or leggings, or...? I always wear leggings to yoga, but I could see how harem pants with an overblouse could be quite nice in this situation.

Rose I am sorry it would be easier if I could post a link to a photo etc. but I will try and describe what I mean. I wear yoga pants that are basically look like boot cut stretch pants.I agree one would not want to tuck a top into them, but frankly I don't think tops should be tucked into any pants that don't have a tailored ( as in with a proper waist band cut to fit with a zipper fly) type pant.
The ones I have are plain black, but some have colored panels sewn in around waist and would look more like exercise pants.. mine don't , they just look like black pants. I have worn those leggings with a long top or tunic over top, but they are not yoga pants..

Thanks, Pat. I know exactly what you mean now from your description.

Pat, I wasn't sure from the reply on the other thread whether the OP was referring to age or "sveltness" (for lack of a better word) as the qualification for wearing yoga pants outside of yoga. The LL Bean stuff Karen was talking about is similar, just not advertised as exercise wear. Either would be good for Sherrell if she's comfortable with that. Coldwater Creek sells a ponte pant that would be comfortable but nice also. Never wore them on a plane, but I wear them all day at work (mainly seated) and they don't seem to get baggy.

Mine also look like plain black boot cut pants, not capris or leggings (or harem pants). They are made by Champion, and they come in petite, medium, and tall lengths. I got them at Target.
