Has anyone sailed on Tallink's Victoria or the Regina Baltica and how did you make reservations? The website is all in Swedish. You can call them and they will mail you a form to fax back with your c.c. #. Anybody have experience with this? Would it be safe to just wait and make reservations upon arrival in Stockholm? Will be here 2 nights prior to sailing to Tallinn.
Thanks everyone for your quick replies--Carroll the sailing date would be Saturday, May 23, from Stockholm to Tallinn. When you called the number were you able to make reservations directly right then and give a c.c. #? According to R.S. book, they can not take cc over the phone . They will send you a form to mail or fax back to them and then you can pick up tickets at the port on day of departure. From what R.S. book says reservations aren't really necessary for the sailing from Tallinn to Helsinki. Do you know what ship you sailed on? The book has 2 listed--the "Regina Baltica" and the bit more expensive "Victoria."
Hi Janet, you can make your reservations on the net try "seaeurope.com" or simply call them at 1-800-533-3755. you can get a 15% discount if booked 30 days early. Outside cabin for two goes for $380 prior to the discount $323 after. Dinner for two $76 and breakfast $30. Total $429. Bon Voyage!!
I made my reservation by calling that number and it was fine.
You don't say when you are going. Those ferries are popular with the Swedish, especially on weekends. We went on a Wednesday in September and it was not full. But it would be more chancy on a summer weekend. We took one to Helsinki at midweek in July and it was much more crowded.
Janet, I'm sorry but my memory of buying the tickets is pretty foggy, so I can't tell you anything definite. I don't believe I faxed or mailed anything in; in fact I'm almost positive I did not. We sailed on the Victoria. It was fine, but nothing great.
If you are going in May, I wouldn't think you would have much problem with buying your tickets when you get there. By the way, we loved Tallinn and had a great day there.
I would wait to make reservations when you arrive in Stockholm. But to be safe, do it as soon as you arrive.
When you arrive in Tallinn, go to the Tourist Information Office and get a self-directed walking tour map and allow a full day to see everything in the town. It is a small town; you can easily walk it.
