Ok fellow runners, I'll be in London in late June and was looking for some good places to get in some runs. My hotel is close to the Earls Court underground, so if possible looking for something around that area.
THANKS!
You might want to post this on the London Forum at TripAdvisor. There are many locals who answer those posts and I bet they can give you some specific ideas.
I know Earls Ct inside and out as it is where I always stay and my favorite bit of London!
Go down Earls Ct Road (towards W. Cromwell rd, then about 5 minute walk) and you will hit Kensington High Street. You'll see a park gate across the street at that junction of Kensington High St and Earls Ct Road and it is Holland Walk. It is an old Jacobean era park that has 5 miles of paths all the way to Holland Park towards Notting Hill. It has fountains and peacocks and leads you past many very cool old houses and tons of trees.
My memories of running through Hyde Park are priceless. I walked up from the Victoria station area. Well worth it.
I might try Tami's idea next trip.
Its nice to be off the beaten path. Regents park is fun too but usually very crowded.
St James park (near admiralty arch) is also nice, with swans and geese. And dont walk through it with food in your hand because the squirrels literally jump on your clothing and climb up your body. I have photos to prove it! lol!
Back in my running days (my knees have never forgiven me), I enjoyed doing circuits from Kensington Gardens, through Hyde Park, across he street through Green Park, by Buckingham down the Mall to the Admirality Arch and back. Most of that route is green space and if memory serves my correctly, you only have to cross traffic twice.
Cheers! Thanks for the tips. I look foward to testing your suggestions out. I'll throw in an extra mile for you guys!
