We'll be taking the RS tour to London/Paris 10/09. Has anyone taken this tour and if so...which hotels did you stay in?
I haven't taken the London/Paris tour but I've been in London on a RS tour. We stayed at the Premier Travel Inn in Country Hall. The London Eye is adjacent. It is a great location next to Westminster Bridge. I know people who have stayed at the Lime Tree on a tour. Most of Rick's hotels are listed in the London book so you might check it.
Thanks Audrey. We've taken the Best of Italy RS tour and two out of the three hotels were GREAT! But the hotel in Florence was a trip in itself..the bathroom was so small your feet covered the shower drain while you used the "facilities." HaHa..easy to laugh at now!!
I heard good things about the Lime Tree too..Any hotel will be fine I'm sure...but it would be nice to know in advance!
Becky,
The RS tour group will be sending you a list of Hotels you'll be staying in. I wasn't sure what your date reference of "10/09" referred to, but they usually send these well in advance of the tours.
Happy travels!
Thanks Ken. We're planning to travel in October 2009 and we are just trying to get a feel on what areas of London RS tours usually stay..I'm confident they will pick a great location but my planner's mind makes me want all the details I can get! :o) We're also considering the London trip vs the London/Paris trip...hoping a day trip to Paris will be easy to do..we'll also want to day trip to Cardiff...so many ideas and so little time...and not to mention $$
Becky, I love London. I have spent proabably 10 days total in Lodon and it hasn't been enough. I've never been to Paris (on my list). On my last trip to London, I wish I had taken a day trip to Paris (or an overnight trip as one of our travel partners did) at the end of the trip. There is another thread in the Helpline about day trips from London to Paris via Eurostar. Happy travels. You should find great flight rates out of Orlando.
Hi Becky,
We took the RS London/Paris Tour in 4/2008. We stayed at the Lime Tree In London and Hotel Castex in Paris. Our room at the Lime Tree was tiny and so was the bathroom. We're not very big people, so it was fine. And we were hardly there except to sleep. They offered us another room, but it was on the 3rd floor. I know some tour members had to change rooms because they couldn't fit in their bathrooms. The innkeepers were very helpful and friendly.
Hotel Castex had more updated appliances than Lime Tree and has an elevator. Both hotels were in very accessible locations to the Metro/Tube stations --very helpful and convenient.
Have a good time.

Hi, Becky. We took the London tour this summer. Our hotel was the Lime Tree and it was just lovely. Very comfortable. Folks there extremely accommodating and friendly. Breakfasts wonderful. Great location near Victoria Station. Wherever you stay, you will have a fabulous time. London and Paris are two very special places.
Thanks everyone!!!! I can't wait to go!!!!!
Hi Becky,
would that side trip to Cardiff be due to Dr.WHO or TORCHWOOD by the way :-)
You wouldn't be the first people to do so and find out what a great place Cardiff is!
Enjoy the antici-----pation.
Steve.
HaHa Steve! That will be just a lucky coincidence!
