Anyone been on the Royal Scotsman train (owned by the Orient Express)? If you've been on it, what did you like (or not like) about it? Would you recommend it? (Note: I realize there are other ways to get around Scotland and less expensive train options, but we are considering this as a bucket list
special experience.)

Margaret, you're not hearing from anyone. Sorry. I did see the train once as my regular train pulled into Perth. It looked wonderful. I would probably do it if I had the money. ; ) I did look on TripAdvisor an older post in the Forum. Also, there is a slightly more recent review at Yelp. There are also some comments on the TripAdvisor review section for the Orient Express. If you do take the trip, please let us know what it's like! Pam

I haven't been on it, but I just looked at The Man in Seat 61's page for it. It looks amazing (if you've got the money). I was particularly impressed that the train is stationary while you're sleeping, so even people who don't sleep well on moving trains shouldn't have trouble.
