My fiance has gifted me with a trip to London- 1 week anytime this year. I have dreamed for years of going to Royal Ascot. Can anyone tell me about their Royal Ascot adventures and how they got from point A (London) to point B (Windsor). I am hoping there are companies that bus you there and back. I don't want to walk miles in a dress and heels! Did you see royalty? What should we plan for the day's timeline and how to get the most out of the trip there would be helpful!

My wife also dreams of attending Royal Ascot. She wants to see the Queen. I'll be interested to hear anyones experiences too.
In another lifetime I used to work at Ascot railway station. During "Royal" Ascot the trains from London were always packed. Travel by rail from London is about an hour from Waterloo, slightly more, and with a change of trains, from Paddington.
On the one day that I did go to the racecourse the walk did not seem too bad, but I wasn't wearing heels or a dress.
I'm sure there will be bus tours to and from central London, try googling "Royal Ascot Tours"
I don't remember if I saw royalty. They didn't come by train. I do remember I did not win any money.
Plan on it being a long and tiring day.
