How hard/easy is it to get last minute tickets to Royal Albert Hall when someone like Jeff Beck is appearing? We're coming into London at 17:57 and have to unload our backpacks at the hotel by Victoria Station. Would we be able to taxi over to RAH and see the concert in time?

You probably won't be able to get last minute tickets for Jeff Beck. You can order in advance from their website and pick up the tickets on the day of the performance. They have a good website where you can see the exact seats that are open so you can tell if they are close to selling out. One warning ... the acoustics are not so great from highest rows. I went to see a concert and sat in the very top row (just below standing section) and was very disappointed with the sound quality.
When you say you are arriving at 17:57, do you mean to the airport or to a train station? If you are flying in, I think it would probably be pretty tough to get to the show on time. If you are arriving at one of the train stations, then no problem.
