Roscommon area

I am going to be in the Roscommon area in the beginning of September and am having a hard time finding a place to stay. Any suggestions?

Hiya!

My mam and I stayed at the "Reeside", Barrymore, Athlone, Co. Roscommon a few years back. Very short walk to Lough Ree and Barrymore very quaint town. It is close enough to Athlone and yet far enough to enjoy the country side.

I looked on 'www.discoverireland.com" and see that 'Reeside' are still listed with the Irish Tourist Board. They do have an e-mail address: reeside@oceanfree.net. The owners were very nice, helpful and they have a really nice sitting room w/fire place etc...

I usually contact the Irish Tourist board toll free number and have them send me the current B&B book they print (ie: 2008); which does come in handy in ireland if you are booking as you go, but also helpful before you go. They have B&B's split up by counties etc.. most have web sites so you can look at the accommodations.

good luck
