I have sent out numerous emails to guest houses and b&bs in Oban and I have not gotten any replies. Does anyone know if a week or more delay is the norm there. Also does anyone have a recommendation.
We stayed in the Heatherfield House B&B in Oban and we really liked it. Wonderful hosts, beautiful home, great location & excellent breakfast. http://www.heatherfieldhouse.co.uk/
Is Oban a must location for your itinerary? Last summer, we stayed at a lovely B and B, Huntingtower Lodge, which was a few miles west of Fort William. Fort William is forty miles east of Oban and is a very central location for visiting many places in Scotland.
If they don't have any openings and are busy, it's a not a complete surprise. Have you thought about phoning? Call at a good time - late afternoon, early evening when new guests are arriving, but meals aren't being fixed and you'll likely reach someone. Or, move on to the next guest house or B&B. Alternatively, go to www.visitscotland.com and try there for a place. Pam
We stayed at the Kilchrenan House three years ago and liked it very much. They responded to my e-mail in a day or two.
We enjoyed our stay at the Glenburnie B&B-great view of the water and excellent breakfast. Nice staff/owners.
We stayed at Sand Villa B&B , newly renovated and walk everywhere is easy. Parking is behind the house. If no one responds they are full for your timeframe. These are small B&B's that do not have xtra staff to respond when they are full.
We enjoyed Oban and the ferry out to the islands from there I hope you can find a vacany it is a charming port town.
I was just able tobook at THe Old Manse. All of the reviews for this guest house on Trip Advisor are great. Thanks everyone for your suggestions.
Corriemar House is another B & B in Oban that I would recommend. We had the same problem getting replies in Oban. It took several emails/faxes.
