Room reservations needed in the Cotswolds?

I'll be arriving in England 9/1 and renting a car for a week. After the first few days in Bath, I want to have the freedom to wander around the countryside and explore. My question is, will I need to make advanced room reservations to be able to find a place to stay in these small towns, or is it possible to find a place to stay upon arriving in town late in the afternoon?

Yes, it is possible to find a place upon arriving. Just look for B&B signs, when you see one that you think you like to stay at, stop and ask if they have a room for the night. They usually offer to show you the room before you agree to take it. You could also go the the Tourist Information center in each village and they could find you a room. We never book rooms ahead, and we've traveled the months of March thru Septmenber.
