returning a rental car in Donegal & flights to Scoitland from there

Am I wrong about this? I can't find a place to return a rental car (rented in Dublin) in Donegal. Neither can I find a Ryan air flight from there to Scotland. The plan was to go south from Dublin to Cork, Dingle, Galway and up to Donegal and fly over to Scotland from there. Not going to happen???

One trick to finding out if you can fly from one destination to another is to check the airport site. Glasgow airport has a link that will tell you all the destinations you can reach from there. It looks like Aer Arann flies from Donegal to Glasgow. http://www.glasgowairport.com/portal/page/Glasgow%5EGeneral%5EFlight+information%5EDestination+map/ Then if you go to the Donegal airport you can see what rental car services are there. It looks like Hertz and Enterprise are there. http://www.donegalairport.ie/ It looks like Aer Arann is your only choice. Pam

Your trip might be simpler if you did it in reverse order, starting with Donegal, ending in Cork which has a larger airport and probably more car rental options. I had originally planned our next trip to Ireland following that route, but have since decided to return the car to Dublin, stopping at Birr and Clonmacanoise enroute from Kenmare to Dublin.

I like both of your replies. I decided last night that it would be better to do in reverse direction (Donegal first and then go south). My son, however, still wants to go south first and end in Donegal. Good to know we CAN fly out of Donegal if he wins! Thank you for all your help.

This will probably be of no interest to you as it takes most of one day but if you want an alternative to flying to Glascow from Donegal the Feada O'Donnell bus line-www.feda.ie- has a bus route from several cities in Donegal that goes to Northern Ireland and then on the ferry to Glascow.

That is definitely an option. I'll get with the rest of the family and get their thoughts. Thanks!
