resonably priced hotel in central stockholm

Can anyone suggest a hotel in central stockholm that won't brake the bank? I'd like a private bathroom.

In 2005 I stayed at the Queen's Hotel in Stockholm. It was an easy walk from the train station, and located on a nice side street with lots of shops and cafes. It was recommended in Rick's Scandinavia 2005 guidebook.

They included a nice breakfast with the room (cereal, rolls, fruit, milk, juice, etc.). I think they had a mix of rooms offering private bathrooms or with no bathroom (there was a communal one in the hall).

Anyway, that was RS's moderately expensive recommendation, and it was OK w/me. Good luck!

Susan, I'm really excited to share what I've found. Check out: http://www.visit-stockholm.com/index.htm. Go to "Where to stay" and then "package reservations" I'm not sure how long you'll be there or what you were planning but the Stockholm a la Carte card looks like a great deal and cost nothing if you book through this site so all travel and entrance is included in the cost of the stay. For us that is saving enough to pay more for the hotel. We are going in July so I haven't experienced it yet, but I've been chatting with someone from Stockholm, and she says it will be a good thing for us.

FYI: Rates in central Stockholm are normally substantially discounted on Friday and Saturday nights.

Hello Susan,
I was at Stockholm in May, 2007. It is a pleasant city. Aparently any pleasant room for two persons, that has a private bathroom, in Stockholm costs $ 150. or more, per night. (When I exchanged money in Sweden I was given 6.1 Swedish Kronor for each U.S. Dollar). For overnight accomodation in Stockholm I recommend STUREPARKENS GASTVANING, at
Sturegatan 58. Internet website : www.stureparkens.nu
E-mail < info@stureparkens.nu
Telephone : 08-662 72 30.
It is at a convenient location in central Stockholm. Read about it in the book "Rick Steves' SCANDINAVIA".
