I have been trying to reach the proprietors of the Bay Tree House, London for a solid week. I've e-mailed several times, but they go unanswered. I've also tried calling, but have only gotten a caretaker once who told me only that the owners were in Florida (presumably on vacation?) and she could not book my reservation. She simply told me to e-mail them again. Does anyone know the disposition of the Bay Tree House, London and, if it is still operating, how I might reach the owners other than the published e-mail address and phone number?
Its not unheard of for small businesses, especially one like a B&B, to close once in a while for a vacation. A family operation like this will be at work for 7 days a week, from early until late without a day off for months on end. If they're in Florida they are probably enjoying a break and hoping for sunshine and warmth. Can you give them a few weeks and try again? Our Dutch friends who ran a B&B had to take a holiday every year to recharge batteries. My aunt and uncle ran a pub by themselves and only had 3 real holidays in nearly 40 years.
My wife and I stayed at the Bay Tree House last August. We also began the job of reserving a room there in January and they will get back to you. They spend the winter in Florida . It's a nice B&B, clean and friendly. The tube drops you off within a few blocks and we found some good neighborhood places to eat. Good luck and have a great time.
