Can anyone suggest the best place to see actual or authentic reproductions of Tudor or Elizabethan clothing in London? Thanks!
Try the Victoria and Albert Museum.
Hampton Court has a Tudor Era tour with guides dress in Tudor manner. Also there is huge family portrait of Henry VIII and children there.
The V&A has a marvelous costume collection but it is only from the 18 century.
The Shakespeare's Globe exhibition has some of the very authentic reproductions of clothing of the era that they created for their performances.
We are already planning on going to Hampton Court Palace, so I will check out the guides in costumes. I contacted them and they said the costumed guides are really the only clothing to see. They do not have a display. I'll check out the Globe, thanks. Does anyone know if the Museum of London has much in terms of Tudor or Elizabethan? I have seen a couple of things on their website, but I can't tell how much they really have.
