We plan to train from Limerick to Dublin. Both trains about same time to travel. One more expensive. What is the difference between rail lines?

Rail Europe is a travel agency, not a rail line, and is owned by a consortium of national rail companies. It's convenient to book with Rail Europe, but you pay for that convenience. Irish Rail is Ireland's national rail company. If you want to save money, book your tickets with them.
