Quaint sea town in Scotland

Will be traveling to Edinburg and would like to go two days north to a quaint town along the sea for one or two days. Need some suggestions on a two or area. Would also like suggested B&Bs or inns to stay.

You might find the Orkney Islands an interesting location. Another suggestion is Portree on the Isle of Skye. Either place, you would want to stay two nights. If you visit Skye, we loved the Flodigary Hotel.

It depends how "quaint" you want it, but if you do not want to travel too far, go to one of teh Fife villages south of St. Andrews - Crail, Ely, Anstruther, Culross (pronounced Kooross).

Another vote for the Fife coast,There are boat trips from Amstruther/Crail out to the Isle of May, and of course the fish and chip shop , where Prince Charles is a customer..

We enjoyed Belhaven/Dunbar Scotland. It is the location of the Belhaven Brewery, the oldest in Scotland. It is also fairly close to Edinburgh, less than an hours drive.

Third vote for Fife....anything from Eastferry and Elie east to Crail will show you a fishing village still in operation.

Another idea would be to head west to Argyll. I stayed near Tarbert in September. I liked the area. It's even better if you can go there in Septemeber when they have their music festival. Fife is good too. I like Orkney, but it's a plane ride. Pam
