We are going to Manchester in March and staying near the Oxford Road train station. I wondered if anyone could recommend good restaurants and/or pubs around the Piccadilly and Oxford Road train stations Would love to find a great pub to take my FIL to but it would have to be child friendly since our 9 month old will be with us. Thanks!

Pubs, only one--the Old Monkey on Portland which is in walking distance-super beers, ales, bitters in a "close environment; The Orchid, just down the street for Thai; a nice walk with a pram and super family friendly is Akbar's for fabulous Indian--just look for the Hilton Deansgate(tallest building), cross the street, and keep walking--you'll pass a pretty seediy fish and chips shop with a line outside if you want to try that delacacily--and then there's always "Curry Mile," a cab ride with a driver who will have many recommendations-just look for the busiest places, and all enjoy babies! Manchester is a great and much over-looked city which I can hardly wait to to be back at in March!
