Pubs in London

We just had dinner at a great Pub in London. The Princess Arms, which is just down the sidewalk from Gordon's Wine Bar. We poked into Gordon's and didn't really see a food menu that we liked. Had delicious fish and chips at the pub however, and a pint of London Pride was only P2.50. It was very busy there and people were milling out on the sidewalk drinking and smoking. Weather here is fantastic today, sunshine and blue sky. It could not be better.

Write your favorite pub in here. Princess Arms outside Embankment station is a thumbs up for sure.

Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese on Fleet Street a couple blocks east of Chancery lane. Rebuilt after the great fire in 1666, it has a snug, intimate atmosphere. They also have mainly (entirely?) organic, non-imported beer and cider.

Al, if I see you there in December, I will buy you a drink and have a laugh with you. Will you be the one with a carrot sticking out of his ear? I'll be the one with the big american butt. Wait, that doesnt make it any easier, does it....

Oops, sorry folks, it was called The Princess of Wales, just down the sidewalk from Gordon's Wine Bar. The prices were really good (6.95 for a standard fish and chips with mushy peas and 2.50 for a pint of London Pride).

We had lunch at Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese and the ground floor bar area was packed, so we were sent up two floors to a dining room. The fish and chips were terrible, with the entire fillet still with skin on the bottom! The atmosphere was nice, the service was a little slow, and the prices a little high.

We also enjoyed a pub in Covent Garden called The Roundhouse. The Bangers and Mash were outstanding.

Near Gloucester Road tube station, the Hereford Arms was very nice too.
