pubs in Kinsale or Killarney

Ok.... more itinerary fine tuning for our trip... We will be in both Kinsale and Killarney and I was wondering if everyone could recommend some good pubs with music to visit. My idea is take a shuttle or cab from our hotel (Kilarney park hotel and Carlton Kinsale) and spend the evening just hanging out in town.... Help!! Thanks RC

I'll second the recommendation for An Seanachaí in Kinsale. Saw Liam and Jer there and again the next night at the White House, also in Kinsale. Kinsale and Dingle were absolutely great for music.

Loved An Seanachaí in Kinsale. Even better if Trad Routes is playing. Liam and Ger are great!!!

A third vote for An Seanachai! We really enjoyed hearing Trad
Routes there last September. Their cds are a fun souvenir of our visit to Kinsale. Enjoy!

We absolutely loved our time in Kinsale...maybe the highlight of our whole trip! It depends on the type of pub experience you want...we enjoyed Ned Kelly's (seems to be more of a local place - we caught a hurling match there and it was an experience not soon forgotten) and Bulman's which is slightly outside of town, near Charles Fort, but is quite popular. The restaurant upstairs is top notch.

My technique is to look for small postings about trad sessions and/or ask. In Killarney, I asked at a music instrument shop and they suggested the Grand Hotel, which has a pub on the ground floor. It was a great session with plenty of good conversation with locals and other travelers.
