Public Transportation, hotel and restaurants in Copenhagen

We will be flying into Copenhagen and would like to know the most economical way to get from the airport to our hotel in the city which is located at Bredgade 78 (Comfort Hotel Esplanaden. Also, has anyone stayed at this hotel?
Can anyone recommend an inexpensive place to eat dinner and breakfast? We will be leaving on a Princess Cruise ship and would like to know the least expensive way to get to the ship. Thanks...Carol

Copenhagen is a really nice city but not cheap. We did not find any inexpensive places in the city.

If your hotel offers free breakfast, eat it. You will save money that way.

We took a cab from the airport to the city, there were four of use so the expense was not too bad. I believe the metro is fairly quick from the airport.

We also took a cab to the cruise ship. Just a note find out which terminal the cruise ship is using, there are two in Copenhagen.

The cost of the cab from the airport to the hotel (near Tivoli) was around $45 Canadian. It was slightly less from the hotel to the cruise terminal.

It has been a few years since I was in Copenhagen (2003), but they have a fantastic public transportation system. We took a bus from the airport to where we were staying in Amagar (between the airport and the city) and we could ride the subway or a bus from there. (They may have extended the subway all the way to the airport by now) Buses come about every 3 minutes, the subway was frequent but not quite as frequent as buses. We did find some "less expensive" restaurants, but they tended to be out of the downtown area.
