Has anyone arranged a room (double en suite) in St. Andrews,University of Glasgow and or Univerity of Edinburgh as a professor visiting Scotland? Any contacts and specifics would be greatly appreciated. Rates and experience. Were the accommodations close enough to the main sights? We're going in July. Thanks.
Any advice on getting a tee time at St. Andrews?
I believe you have to enter a daily lottery to possibly get a tee time at St Andrews. My dad also had to take a card from his home course showing his handicap, as well.
"Any advice on getting a tee time at St. Andrews?"Nancy is right. Here are the specifics, from Rick's book: To play the Old Course, you must bring verification of a handicap of 24 or lower (for men), cost is about $200/person. "To ensure a specific tee time, it's smart to reserve a full year ahead. Otherwise, about half the tee times are determined each day by a lottery. Call or visit in person the day before by 14:00 to put your name in, 2 players minimum, then keep your fingers crossed when they post the results at 16:00."
