Does anyone know of a tour guide who has transportation for 4 people. A group of us would like to see parts of England & not all of it is accessable by public transportation.
I suggest you hire a guide with car. Sounds like Maggie can help you.
Having driven through England, Scotland, North Ireland and Ireland, I can recommend having another person to drive you.
Roads are VERY narrow with no shoulder in most places. And driving on the left is NOT easy. And shifting with the left hand is NOT easy.
So that driving takes all his attention, preventing the driver from enjoying the scenery.
Where do you want to go in England? There are a lot of private coach tours within the UK. Let us know which areas you're thinking about.
Probably the Cotswolds for sure. We haven't discussed individual towns yet. I'm thinking more of a van with seating for 4 + driver as opposed to a coach tour which I think of as a large bus. Let me know if I'm wrong. But a bus tour might be an idea. I'm thinking we can base in Bath for a few nights & visit the cotswolds from there. Right now we're planning on renting a car with one of us driving, but I'd prefer a private guide who knows the area plus I'd prefer that we didn't drive. I'm just don't know how to locate one.
Thanks much for the help. I'll check them out & share with the others I'm going with.
Here's 2 websites that may be what you're looking for.

If you go to Cotswolds with a bus tour you probably won't get to get the very small quiant villages. Driving in the Cotswolds is very easy and that's one area in England that is really best to drive in.
