Prepaid Data in Ireland for iPhone

I have an unlocked AT&T iPhone 4S (has a simcard slot) and would like to have data while I'm in Ireland for a week. I do not care about phone calls or texting, just data for internet use. I will only be in Ireland so roaming is not an issue. Of course I'll use free WiFi where available, but is there a cheap option for a couple gigabytes of data I could pick up on a prepaid simcard or such? I've searched around a bit on the forums but haven't found anything directly relevant. Thanks!

I don't know about gigabytes, but get a local prepaid SIM card and sign up for a data package. I've done so with a T-Mobile U.K. SIM in the U.K., in France, and in Germany. I'm pretty sure Ireland will have its own local offerings. The price is pretty low, but there is a catch: Your use is either limited to a set amount per day (but it is many, many MBs) or the total for the month is capped. That's why I'm not sure you can get gigabytes. (Pause) Okay, I just randomly checked one of the carriers for Ireland, O2, and here is what you can get for a micro-SIM with prepaid: "Just text NET to 50231 to buy a 700MB 30 day bundle for €9.99."
"When your 30 days are up (or your 700MB of data – whatever comes first), we'll send you a text and you can buy a new bundle. If you would rather go back to the daily data charge, it will cost you a maximum of €1 per day for up to 50MB." Check out o2online.ie. Do a google search for Ireland mobile carriers and you'll be able to compare the options.
