Premier Inn York

We are planning on ending our 2 week trip in York, after staying at a flat in London, and B&B's in the Cotwolds and N. Wales. I'm trying to save a little at the end and am wonder about this place. Have you ever stayed? What do you think.

Haven't stayed there, but do notice it is outside the walls and just a bit away from the city center. It looks like it is a few blocks away from the station, which, in turn, is about a 5-10 minute walk into the city center. Not really a problem, though. You might ask for a room on an upper floor away from the street. York streets seem to be busy in rush hour. In October, I stayed for a few nights at the Best Western Monkbar, which is across the street from the gate in the city wall of the same name. The room was roomy, with 1970's style decor. Not luxurious, but a comfortable middling kind of place. Very pleasant and responsive staff. Important: Wherever you stay in York, make certain there's a place to park your car overnight, if you're driving.

We've not stayed in the Premier Inn in York have stayed in two of their locations in London, Liverpool (Aintree) and Blackpool. The rooms have always been clean and neat, tea encluded but not breakfast. Of course there is a restaurant on the premises. Depending on how many of you there are you can usually get a family room at no extra cost. Given my druthers, I druther stay in a B&B but my husband is partial to hotels and with the PI's he knows what he is getting.

Thanks for your repllies, We are staying at a lot of B&B's on our trip, but was thinking maybe to go cheaper at the end. I'll look into the Arnot house and check out the prices.
Thanks again!
