We will be on a British Isles cruise in June and would like to know where the ship will dock in Edinburg and how to get to the Castle. like wise in Dublin to get to Trinity College. Thanks, Dorsey
Dorsey, In Edinburgh, your ship will likely dock at or near the Port of Leith. That's also where the Royal Yacht Brittania is permanently moored. If you have time, it's well worth a visit. I'd suggest getting off the ship early though, as on "cruise ship days", visits to Brittania are very crowded! The entrance is inside the large multi-floor shopping mall. There are Buses from there into Waverley Station in Edinburgh. As I recall, I used the double-decker Tour Bus to get to the Port from Edinburgh. From Waverley Station, you can easily walk up the hill to the Castle. I've never arrived in Dublin via Cruise line, but I believe the Port is fairly close to the city centre. I'd probably just use a Taxi to visit the downtown area and Trinity College. The staff onboard will be able to give you the best options. Happy travels!

It tells you how to take local bus up to St. Giles. If you start your bus trip after 9AM you should be able to buy ticket that lets you ride buses all day. Pam
