I am staying in Plymouth for a few days at the end of March and I am wondering if anyone has any good suggestions for accommodation. I am a single traveller and I would like a guest house that provides breakfast at a reasonable price (2-3 star).

I would do a google search for "B&B Plymouth England". Doing that will give you some options.
A single woman will be safer there than in a hotel or pension or inn.
There are downloadable lists of hotels and guest houses on the Plymouth council website:

There is also an email address for the Tourist Information Centre on that page. You could always try asking them for advice (it is so long since I have been there I cannot remember where I stayed). I have never contacted the TIC myself, but I have had dealings with Plymouth Council and they have always been a friendly bunch.
