The posts I read talk about renting a car (mais non!). We are staying in Bayeux and need to get to London. This is our situation. I do NOT want to drive. But I do want the easiest route. I've been to raileurope already. Is there another site? Thanks so much!
Of course I mean via train - I mean to get to it.
One option is this You can travel by train from Bayeux to Paris Gare St Lazare. From there, you walk to the RER station Haussman Saint-Lazare and take the RER line E one stop to Magenta. From Magenta, you walk to Gare du Nord (the stations are connected). From Gare du Nord, you can take the Eurostar to London. I did this route in reverse a couple of years ago. I've always bought Eurostar tickets at eurostar.com. The lowest prices are 120 days out and prices just go up as you get closer to the departure date. When I did this, I bought my Bayeux Paris ticket at the station on the day that I traveled, but you can get a lower price if you book in advance at sncf.com I did this route in reverse. There are a couple of challenges: - This makes for a fairly long day. - You need to check in for the Eurostar 30 minutes in advance and you also need to allow time to get between Gare St Lazare and Gare du Nord, so don't book the Eurostar too soon after arrival.
what do you mean non(foreign) driver? Do you mean foreign to France or the USA? Or England? I just don't get it... If you want a driver from your hotel to the station in Bayeux why can't you use any taxi driver? Or walk? Its not a large town....
LOL What I meant was, I don't want to drive in a foreign country. The previous post answered my question, I think. I just wanted to confirm there isn't an easier way than that.
hello, also check out the ferries. brittanyferries.com is a good option.
