I am travelling to GB in August with my 20 something daughter and will be in Liverpool for 2 days. We are both big Beatle fans.We would appreciate recommendations on a good place to stay...moderately priced, and close to the city center. Prefer B&B, but hotels are ok too.

I don't know what you call moderate, but my personal favourite in Liverpool is the "Atlantic Tower" hotel. You can't beat it for location.

Hi Cathy, my musician Beatlemania husband and I stayed at the Premier Inn in the city center (not at Albert Dock). The price was under 100.00 per night and it's close by Matthew Street and all the fun stuff. It's a 15 minute walk down to Albert Dock to catch the Magical Mystery Tour bus or to see the Beatle Story Museum. We only spent 3 days there and wish it had been a week. Great Indian restaurant called Spice at 18 Stanley street that outshines restaurants here in San Francisco.
The train station is a 10 minute walk away. Liverpool is beautiful (they did a great remake) and the people are very friendly.
