We are planning on staying in Bourton on the Water for 2 or 3 nights. Anyone stayed there before, if so what are some good places to stay and things to see? We would prefer a place that serves a good English breakfast yet still in a lower price range (200 USD per night would be a max). Thanks for any advice!
We stayed at Elvington B&B last July for three nights. It's about a 5-10 minute walk into the center of Bourton. They have free parking, big breakfasts and cozy rooms. About £50/night for a double with private bath, including great English breakfast. Highly recommended. http://www.bandb.fsnet.co.uk/ http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g186283-d554169-Reviews-Elvington_Guest_house-Bourton_on_the_Water_Cotswolds_Gloucestershire_England.html
Awesome! Thank you it's so nice to have recommendations from people who have stayed there, I will check it out it will most likely be our choice too!
Heather, go to tripadvisor.com for many, many reviews.
Manor Close B&B and The Meadow Rise are really good B&B's.
Hi Heather. I set my mother up for a week in Bourton last summer. I found the Weaver's cottage that is a block from the "action" if there is ever any action in Bourton. Collette Harrison owns the rental, she lives in London. She was very responsive to emails. The cottage has a small kitchen, 2 sitting rooms, 2 bedrooms, 1 1/2 bath. As for review, I would have to say it was a lifelong experience for my mother, we had to drag her kicking and screaming away from Bourton. Have a nice stay. http://www.tripadvisor.com/VacationRentalReview-g186283-d2118315-Weavers_Cottage-Bourton_on_the_Water_Cotswolds_Gloucestershire_England.html
Heather, This site gives all details regarding B&B lodgings. Then go on tripadvisor.com to get reviews. We just booked Lansdowne Villa. Reasonable reviews and price. Much more so than a hotel and most all B&B rooms have their own bathrooms, no more sharing like the old days! http://www.cotswolds.info/accommodation/stow-lodgings.shtml Enjoy,
Dawn
