People arriving at different times to London and no one will have cell phones to communicate. Is there a good spot to meet up at Paddington station because some people will be using the Heathrow Express to get into London?
The Lawn where you can sit down, have a coffee etc. Map of Paddington can be downloaded from http://www.networkrail.co.uk/aspx/7041.aspx Picture of this area: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Paddington_Station_The_Lawn.jpg
Thanks. Do you know the name of a store or cafe there that can narrow down the meeting spot if it is crowded?
There is a Starbuck's coffee stand. It may be in the picture that Marco posted, in "The Lawn" area. They also have McDonald's, Burger King, Krispy Kreme doughnut shop, Costa Coffee, and other sandwich shops. Have a look here: http://www.networkrail.co.uk/aspx/7045.aspx This web site lists the cafes and retail shops in Paddington.
Thank you. This will work for all of us.
Burger King.
The Lawn is separated off from the main concourse and although busy is away from people rushing to their trains. Seating in the main concourse is very limited (not sure if there is even any currently). The equivalent to the 'meet me by the clock' would be at the various statues around the station (eg Paddington Bear, Brunel, or the War memorial) but not really if there is a long wait I guess.
I have a fun one... upstairs near the escalator (near Boots the drugstore and in front of a cafe), there is a statue of Paddington Bear.. :)
